New Zoo in Poznań – 2000 m

One of the largest zoos in Poland, opened in 1974 on Biała Góra, the Eastern green wedge of Poznań.

The zoo takes as much as 117 ha of green area located on a forest hill. There are also two extensive ponds, the total surface of which amounts to more than 13 ha. Thus, it’s a natural habitat for the domestic fauna. The new zoo is famous for a rich collection of predatory birds and owls. Bear in mind, the collection is one of the richest in Europe, no mistake.
You can reach the New Zoo by bus (starting from the Roundabout Śródka and going through Termy Maltańskie. During summer, at your disposal there is also the Park Railway Maltanka, taking you safe to the place of your destination, i.e. up to the station called Zwierzyniec (thus, right at the entrance to the zoo). Maltanka works from 18 April until 27 September..
